Job Position: Network Administrator
Level: 2-5 years of experience
Location: San Jose, California
Job Description
InfinIT Consulting is seeking motivated and passionate network engineers who are experienced maintaining small, mid-sized and enterprise-sized network environments.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Installs, configures, and maintains the organization's LAN server and workstations
- Manages performance of a multiple hardware and software platform interface at the most complex level
- Manages LAN security and network performance
- Assist senior network engineers in maintaining current network systems and meeting SLA requirements
- Responsible for configuring, troubleshooting and maintaining various networks from single-branch to multi-branch network environments
- Ability to handle network administrative tasks with little or no supervision
- Produce detailed documentation on procedures, network configurations and end-user training
- Provide end user support for: Exchange Server e-mail troubleshooting, line of business application support, network outages, server backup and recovery, and auxiliary IT support as needed
- Interact and collaborate with team members and other IT organizations
Desired Skills
The list of desired experience includes:
- Experience implementing and supporting Microsoft technologies including Microsoft Small Business Server, Microsoft Exchange, and Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services
- Working knowledge of routers and switches, PIX firewalls, and TCP/IP
- Knowledge of name resolution methods such as WINS and DNS
- Operational experience with security issues and access control mechanisms to prevent unwanted access
- In-depth knowledge of network monitoring and other network administrative tools
- Familiar with implementing and supporting third party line of business applications
- Strong technical and hands-on experience troubleshooting and resolving problems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills interfacing with customers and within levels of the organization
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and balance a workload of multiple contracts simultaneously
- Certifications a plus
Benefits
Full-time employment is based on thirty one (31) hours or more per week. Benefit coverage, if elected, becomes effective after the introductory period of ninety (90) days after the hire date.
