Job Position: Senior IT Consultant / Systems Engineer

Job Description
InfinIT Consulting, Inc. is looking for a Senior IT consultant excited to work in a fast-paced position designing and maintaining reliable, scalable and secure Windows servers in a highly available Active Directory environment. The position requires understanding of web servers, SQL Server databases and database servers along with detailed knowledge of Exchange, Share Point and all Office products.
As a Senior IT Consultant you will assist with business development, lead discovery and design activities, and provide oversight during implementation. Your role in working with the Customer Relationship Manager in business development is to lead the collection of customer business and technical needs, design the project approach, solution and level of effort, and present recommendations to prospective clients. During discovery and design projects you will lead project planning and completion of project tasks such as client interviews, presenting recommendations report, completing design activities, developing project plans, managing small teams. You will be responsible for the successful deployment of the recommended products/solutions.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Build, deploy, manage and support all aspects of our predominantly Windows based infrastructure within a highly available LAN/WAN environment
- Work on complex technical problems requiring in-depth analysis of multiple factors from break-fix to high-end engineering
- Participate in evaluation of current and proposed IT solutions
- Deployment and migration of Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows 2003 Server environments
- Microsoft Exchange 2003 support and management, messaging support for other applications
- SQL Server systems management
- Application packaging and remote deployment/management experience with Active Directory, SMS, Citrix
- VMWare or other similar server virtualization experience
- Change Control process management experience
- Advanced Windows system administration including Active Directory, group policy, DHCP, DNS, WINS, IIS & Microsoft MOM
- Evaluate specifications and requirements for projects against available solutions
- Collect, monitor, and analyze system data logs
- Analyze software and hardware performance
- Maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies for all production servers
Desired Skills
The list of desired experience includes:
- Microsoft MCSE
- Advanced skills and experience in developing the project approach/solution (to achieve prospective client objectives) including creating project plans outlining needed resources, tasks and time estimates. Previous pre-sales experience with a Consulting/Professional Services company is REQUIRED.
- Extensive hands-on experience designing, implementing, and supporting a multi-site Exchange 2003 and 2007 environment.
- 5 plus years proven experience in implementing, configuring and maintaining Windows server and Active Directory architecture
- Five plus years recent experience in TCP/IP connectivity and troubleshooting; installation and trouble shooting of business application software and Operating Systems
- Working experience on SAN and NAS Storage technologies desired
- Must be able to trouble shoot network connectivity and client/server communication issues relating to physical links, logical network, O/S, applications, etc.
- Ability to work both as a team and independently, as well as strong verbal and written communications skills are required
- Must have strong analytical skills in order troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve technical issues utilizing the proper hardware, software and operating system configurations
- Must be able to develop and follow procedures as necessary to achieve operational effectiveness
- Ability to supervise or coordinate vendors and/or consultants engaged in the installation of hardware and software.
- Recommend and make necessary improvements to configurations to achieve operating efficiencies.
- Must be self directed, motivated and have the ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment
Educational Requirements
- BS in computer science or related field or equivalent on the job experience
- Microsoft Certification Desired
Benefits
Full-time employment is based on thirty one (31) hours or more per week. Benefit coverage, if elected, becomes effective after the introductory period of ninety (90) days after the hire date.
